How to choose
Decide whether you are running a venue or a curriculum
This single question removes half the list. Club software prices by court and is built for reservations. Coaching software prices by student or by seat and is built for what you teach. Buying the wrong side of that line is the expensive mistake.
Price it at the roster you expect in a year, not today
Per-student pricing is cheapest when you are small and rises with every student. Flat and banded pricing costs more at the start and stops moving. Model both at the number you are aiming for.
Check what is an add-on
A website builder, advanced reporting, a branded app and data access are all commonly priced separately. Total what you would actually switch on before comparing headline prices.
Ask whether it knows pickleball
Pickleball has its own structure that general sports software does not assume: DUPR ratings that move match by match and are rated separately for singles and doubles, drill progressions built around dinks, resets and third shots, and rotating doubles pairings. Software that has to fit swimming and basketball too will treat all of that as a free-text note.
